About Diane Dempcy, LMHC
When Life Feels Like Too Much Or Not Enough
Diane Dempcy, a trauma therapist in Seattle.
Some days, it feels like you’re just trying to get through the hours.
You wake up already carrying a heavy sense of stress—about work, relationships, and everything in between. Your mind races with overthinking, replaying conversations, and “what ifs” until you feel completely drained.
Even when life isn’t that busy, it still feels overwhelming.
Small things can set you off, leaving you wondering why your reactions feel so intense. Maybe you’ve been told you’re too sensitive, and part of you believes it. On the outside, you’re getting through what needs to be done, but inside, it can feel like you’re falling apart.
It’s exhausting to feel overwhelmed so much of the time, and difficult to trust or believe that things could truly get better.
Office on Mercer Island.
As a therapist in Seattle, clients turn to me when life feels too heavy to manage alone.
I work with people who feel overwhelmed and ready for something to change. Many of my clients start therapy feeling anxious, stuck, or just worn out from trying to keep it all together.
Over time, something shifts. They begin to understand why certain things set them off and notice that those old triggers don’t feel as strong anymore. They start to catch their patterns sooner, give themselves more grace, and handle stress with a little more ease.
Little by little, the anxiety quiets down. Confidence grows. There’s more space to breathe and make choices that actually feel good.
Many clients tell me they can sit with tough emotions without needing to escape them or fix everything right away.
They’re more grounded, less reactive, and far more compassionate with themselves. For some, it feels like finding a steadier center—less depression and anxiety, more balance, and a deeper sense of peace in who they are.
My work as a trauma therapist in Seattle is collaborative and supportive. I’m keenly observant, gently directive, and always focused on creating a space where you feel safe to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. As a certified EMDR therapist with advanced training, I integrate evidence-based approaches that help you process trauma, reduce anxiety, and build a stronger sense of self.
When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me chasing my four-year-old Goldendoodle, Rafi, around the park, experimenting with nourishing and delicious recipes, or spending time with family and friends catching a movie or a dance performance.
